Wtf is this? An introduction to the blog and to the players. Start here.
Hello world.
Welcome to the cheeriest blog ever.
If you're here, you know the basics.
I am Kris.
I have breast cancer, or more specifically (or fancily) Ductal carcinoma in situ. [edit. it turned out I had invasive ductile carcinoma. And then an MRI found a bonus tumor that was invasive lobular carcinoma. In situ means "in place" while invasive is more nefarious, as it sounds...but I was still one of the lucky ones as far as this bs goes.]
Friends have suggested that a good way to get info out is to nominate a point person who is in charge of information distribution...and that makes sense but the reality is that we have a lot of weird pockets of people in our lives who don't talk to each other (yeah I probably did just call you weird, and you probably took that as a compliment). So I started this as a no-frills way to get info out. My plan for now is to update this as I'm able. When I'm not able, Stephen will, or I'll have my person do it.
So I'll introduce my person. Many of you know Anna, or have at least heard me talk about her. Anna is one of the kindest, most generous people I have ever met in my life. We've been largely inseparable since I walked into The Aerial House so many years ago and became obsessed with silks. Anna is an awesome human, an incredible photographer, the best silks teacher there is, a new mom who is still full of wonder, and damn, so much more. I am honored to have her helping me tell the story here.
Not sure what's on the docket yet, but I imagine there will be ups and downs, with some surprises (good and bad, surely) throughout. In any case, if you're texting me and emailing me for info and I'm not answering, this is the place to look.
More on how we got here in another post.
